On the edge of an old village core, an old house is joined with the body of adjacent buildings. The old and thick masonry walls have been preserved, as well as the roof. The wooden floors have been dismantled to reduce from three to two floors. This increases the ceiling height and aligns the floors with the neighbouring house.

The envelope has been completely insulated from the inside. The walls lined, a new insulated slab on over the crawl space created and the insulation of the roof increased.

The ground floor occupied by an extension of the living room. The floor contains a bedroom independent of the rest of the house, with its own spiral staircase and its private bathroom.
